I'm excited to give you an introduction to my new series of original artwork that I have been working on over the last couple months. The "Like a Dream" collection is my first series of work that I will be releasing all-together online, with paintings inspired by night-time dreams, concepts intended to create the feeling of nostalgia, and the aim to capture that slightly surreal, dream-like quality, where nothing is as it seems. However, with all those themes in mind, I still wanted to create work that would sit nicely in the home environment, and bring beauty and creativity into the home, so I was quite picky with the dreams that I chose to paint, and how I went about painting them. Even the weirdest ideas could be turned into something beautiful and interesting to look at.

Where did the idea to paint dreams come from?

I've always dreamt a lot myself, and been able to remember them very well with fine detail. They have always fascinated me right from when I was a child, and I couldn't believe how the mind is able to create it's own world and take you through a storyline that you've never lived, or take you somewhere you've never been. A lot of us write our dreams down, and it's something I have tried to do but I'm not really a writer and I struggle to put what I have seen into words so I thought, why not paint them?
Where are the dreams from?
So I have collected all my imagery from numerous sources, and have painted dreams from friends, family, as well as my own. I wanted to have a whole variety of perspectives and subjects.

What connects each painting together?
So apart from the fact that they are all inspired by a dream, the core focus and theme of this series, which I believe ties them all together is that they all tell a story. Each one is just a snapshot, but there is a much bigger picture going on, and I want the viewer to be able to interpret that for themselves. A lot of artists like to keep the artwork in a collection visually connected which definitely works well and it was something I considered, however I have a need to paint from an honest place of feeling and emotion. Every time I walk into my studio I am in a different place, and so if I'm really painting from the heart then something different will emerge every time. I have learnt to love the variety of my work, and to embrace it despite it not being the norm. I also love the fact that my buyers and collectors are always getting something 100% unique.

Making this collection accessible to all:
When I was brainstorming ideas for this collection, I realised how important it was to me to make sure that everyone who wants to buy a piece from this collection would be able to, no matter what their budget size or home decor. I didn't want anyone to miss out on a piece that speaks to their heart because it's too big or too expensive. For that reason, each dream has the original canvas painting version, but also a paper version. The paper studies are unframed, meaning you can choose how you style them to fit your home decor, as well as being a lot more affordable in comparison to the larger canvas works. I have also made sure to use a variety of canvas sizes, from a mini 10.5 x 12.5 cm canvas, to a giant 100 x 150cm canvas.

I am also introducing the option of payment plans for works over £100. This way you can pay in instalments every month, and receive the artwork once the final payment has been completed. If you would like to purchase work this way, please contact me first.

Some people fall in love with a piece but are unsure whether it will work inside their home. For each artwork I have created a mock-up interior to help you visualise what it will look like up on the wall, however if you are still struggling to picture it on your own walls, then feel free to contact me and I can create a mock-up like this for your own living space. Simply send me a photo of the wall where you would like to go and I will do the rest, free of charge.
I really hope that some of you will find that painting you've been waiting for. These are difficult times that we are living in, so if artwork can bring you joy and add to your life then it's worth having, am I right!?
The collection will be released tomorrow at 5:00pm, and will be under the "SHOP" section of my website in the category "Like a Dream".
Thank you so much for your support and happy browsing!
